Robotpegasys
at the NATIONAL BIG APPLE COMIC BOOK CONVENTION !!
|
|
| After
the success of my first DVD, I decided to create my own
comic book, which was my childhood passion and dream. |
|
| |
|
The
strange tales of Marcus Peblo were destined
to be enjoyed in comic book format. After enhancing
144 panels of strips, Marcus Peblo was reborn.
A new chapter of Robotpegasys was about to
emerge as I waited 2 weeks for the 10 boxes of the Adventures
of Marcus Peblo Limited Edition
to arrive. The final product looked FANTASTIC.
It had a glossy cover and exquisitely produced pages. It was
time to hit the pavement and announce my arrival. In NYC,
no less.
In
November, I hit the Big Apple National Comic Convention!
It was race against time to get my stuff ready in time. I
decided to update all of my Robotpegasys
props for my table! Marcus doesn't take NO
for an answer!
|
With
one day before the show and a lot of stuff to prepare. I was
running nonstop. After printing out some of my best artwork,
I hunted for a copy center that could laminate my stuff on
the spot. Bingo! After hitting a bunch of stores, I got lucky.
Above you can see the rewards of my labor!
I
was almost at the finish line but still needed to create a
custom made give-a-away. The popular "chicken
chip" was created. hundreds of "ancient"
pictures were created using heat and a stove. After 7 hours,
the chips were ready!
You
could say they where hatched!?!

No,
I'm not under the influence of some illegal substance. I'm totally
fatigued after staying up for 32 hours and only getting 1 hour
of restless sleep.
Talk
about problems! I left my house at 8:00 am, and after getting
into Manhattan, still had to look for cheap parking for almost
2 hours!
Luckily
for me, Friday's time would only be from 12:00 to 8:00. Saturday
and Sunday were going to be the big, long days.
I
had my good friend David with me, he did sound
design on the DVD, helping my out for all three
days of the convention:-) |
| |
|
|
David
set up the table for me, while I relaxed a bit! Good lookin'.
|
Thanks,
now I was ready for action! |
| |
I
meet a lot of interesting and cool creative people at the convention.
The guys from Crazze
Comics were set up right across from us. These guys
where a blast to hang out with. They produce comics, posters,
and trading cards.
Cosmic Wars is a sci-fi fantasy
epic and Russ 5377 is a futuristic urban drama.
They are also in the process of making two full
length movies. The 3D animated version of "Cosmic
Wars" and "The Vision and the Industry"
a documentary about the lives of the men behind Crazee
Comics.
Check
out the Crazee
Comics Web site for more info! And don't forget
to buy a comic!

The Toxic Avenger from Trauma
Films pays a visit! |
Is
the Empire sending Storm Troopers
for Marcus? |

The
first Day at the Con was superb! Although I was exhausted from
the previous days escapades. I had great conversations with
a lot of independent publishers, made a bunch of friends, and
sold loads of DVD's and comics.
I also had a lot of surprise visitors. People
who I had not seen in years, where roaming around the con, looking
for treats. They where surprised and happy to see that I was
still doing what I loved after all of these years.
Be sure to read page 2. That's where the actions
starts to heat up, as you see pictures of the Wonderful people
from the Convention. See you after you click the link!
